BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are a hugely important part of the School in a Bag pie. They embrace the spirit of our mission with an abundance of enthusiasm and goodwill. Without their dedication and time, School in Bag would cease to function in the same capacity, particularly during our events where our body of volunteers are vital to the smooth running of the operation and our funds are put towards the operational costs of the charity. How can YOU help?

HOME FARM FEST

HELP AT OUR ANNUAL FLAGSHIP EVENT…

There are many roles that need filling in order to make Home Farm Fest run efficiently every June.  These include:

Bar Staff / Stewarding / Tea Tent Staff / HFF Shop / Poo Patrol

Help keep School in a Bag ticking through volunteering your time to help.

BIG BAG PACK

JOIN US, OR SET UP YOUR OWN…

Every December 23rd around 160 volunteers donate their time to help pack shopping in our 18 hr Big Bag Pack from 6am until midnight in Tesco Yeovil.

Join us or set up your own Big Bag Pack on December 23rd in your nearest supermarket – we can provide you with what you need 🙂

POP UP SHOP

HELP STAFF OUR ANNUAL POP UP SHOP…

From mid October until, Christmas, we are granted a free empty shop in our local shopping centre which we transform in to a charity shop with a difference.  The aim…to transform a wall with empty SchoolBags in to packed SchoolBags.  Open seven days a week, we are after dedicated staff to tell people about our ethos and guide them through the packing experience.

AMBASSADOR

BECOME A FACE OF SCHOOL IN A BAG…

Meet Joseph…he heard an SIAB presentation and decided he could do the same. He presents about our work through his speaking engagements and spreads the ethos of SIAB to a wider network of potential donors and supporters.

Be like Joseph….become an Ambassador!

OPERATIONAL ROLES

Due to the size of the charity there are rarely opportunities for us to hire regular office or warehouse based volunteers. Although we would love to have more people on our team, we want you to get as much as you can out of a volunteering role, and the charity simply doesn’t generate enough jobs!
As we continue to grow, it is always a good idea to regularly check our social media channels in case anything changes. We are so grateful that so many of you want to give us your time.
